Fourth time of visiting the site, previously run by Sunelia Camping group. This time, we were delighted that it allowed dogs, so we brought ours. But on trying to enter the bar, terrace area, we were told dogs not allowed. Back at reception we queried and were told that last year a dog bit a child in the restaurant. So those are the rules now. When asked where we could have our dog, it was on the road through or at our pitch. We pointed out that had we known from their publicity, that this was the case, we would have booked somewhere else, to which the female receptionist sarcastically replied, " Well, you'll know for next time." When I then pointed out that we would be unable to use all the facilities we have paid for, the reply was that one of us could go to the bar, come away and then the other one could go. Again, this was the female receptionist. I said I wish to make a formal complaint, about not being made aware of the dog ruling before booking. She phoned the manager, who didn't want to speak to us. Whilst she was talking, she said, "Anglais," as if our nationality should have any bearing on the matter. She then tore a tiny piece of paper and wrote an email address for us to contact. I had to ask for a name. The bottom line: Their publicity should say that dogs can only be on pitch or road through site. Dogs can bite people in places other than bar, restaurant. We can't leave our dog at the tent. We understand that the people on the desk don't make the rules, but the totally sarcastic and unsympathetic way our disappointment was dealt with, by the female receptionist, made us wonder what were her customer service qualities that got her the job. We won't be back.
